EUROPEAN ENTREPRENEURSHIP EDUCATION SUMMIT

“INSPIRE, MOTIVATE AND SUPPORT THE NEXT ENTREPRENEURIAL GENERATION”

The Summit is an international meeting of educators, academics, practitioners, consultants andentrepreneurs that present their ideas, projects, results and experiences concerning

entrepreneurial education and the diffusion of the enterprising culture in the society.

“Inspire, motivate and support the next entrepreneurial generation”: this is the main theme

of the summit that will give the opportunity to share the best practices used by educators in

order to foster potential entrepreneurs.

 

The Summit is part of the Research and Innovation Forum 2010, the third edition of

an international meeting of innovators, entrepreneurs and academics that will take place in

Padua, Italy on 11-17th march 2009. Debates, workshops, and exhibitions will be

dedicated to the scientific research and innovation projects promoted by both firms and

public centres.

 

What is the state of the art of the Oslo Agenda for Entrepreneurship Education in

Europe? What are the innovative ideas and perspectives concerning entrepreneurship

education programmes and the dissemination of the enterprising culture? Which national

or local programmes achieve better results in motivating and supporting entrepreneurs?

How can we compare different experiences and initiatives carried out in European and

non-European contexts? How can we design and share new tools in order to stimulate

entrepreneurship and encouraging potential (young) entrepreneurs? These are some of

questions that will be discussed during the meeting.

 

Who should attend

The Summit has been designed for lectures, educators, scholars, consultants, policy makers, members of organizations of entrepreneurs, chambers of commerce, in order to present and share their projects, results and programmes. Researchers, students and practitioners involved into entrepreneurial education are encouraged to participate.

The Academic Workshop on Technological Entrepreneurship and Innovation Management is part of the Research and Innovation Forum 2010, the third edition of an international meeting of innovators, entrepreneurs, academics that will take place in Padua from 11th to 17th March 2010. Debates, workshops and exhibitions will be dedicated to the scientific research and innovation promoted by both firms and public centres.

 

Why this meeting

 

Is Entrepreneurship a growing and exciting field of scholar research or a dangerous field of dreams? While different perspectives, approaches and methodologies have been used in the past years to explore the entrepreneurial phenomena, there is an interesting debate focusing on the nature, the tools and the main objectives of entrepreneurship. At the same time, in traditional and fast developing economies technological entrepreneurs are recognized as fundamental agents of change, economic development and innovation.

 

Objectives

1)   offer to young researchers and research teams an exclusive opportunity to present and compare their work, focusing on the general scope, the methodologies and the main research streams,

2)   create a networked community of leading research centres and teams working on complementary topics regarding technological entrepreneurship,

3)   present new results or innovative research.

 

Who should attend

 

This academic event has been designed for PhD students, young researchers, junior lectures/professors, in order to present research projects and preliminary/intermediate results of their work. Not only single scholars, but research groups are encouraged to join the Workshop which aims at comparing the research patterns of leading centres and teams.

 

Workshop concept

 

Innovative projects and papers, literature review papers, PhD, research projects, joint research projects will be presented. Participants are requested to present both the general research project they are carrying out and preliminary or specific results. These results can be in the form of 1) working paper 2) original new paper 3) already published paper. A discussant will be appointed for each presentation. The meeting will be closed by a peer focus group on the presented topics.
